Digg THIS

Digg is an extremely popular news site, because it’s totally user-generated. Members of Digg decide what they think is cool, and the things that are most popular end up on the front page. Some of it is really good, some just quirky Internet-nerd stuff that only applies to Digg users.

Mixx, a fairly new site out there, is better than Digg, and more and more people are jumping on the bandwagon. the nice thing about Mixx is it has a much broader range of topics, more like a true news site. Digg tends to be very tech-centric, which is great for what it is, but isn’t for everyone.

Mixx, located here, works much the same as Digg- you register, and then submit links, as well as vote on links others have submitted. New, as well as popular, links get pushed to the front. It has a clean interface, with everything from pictures to videos to news links put together in a simple way.

You can have friends, follow what they’re into, and really do an awful lot with Mixx. Once you create an account, you choose subjects that are interesting to you, and your Mixx is tailored specifically to your interests.

It’s a user-generated, supposedly bias-free source to find what people care about. It’s going to become big- get in before it does, and tell people!

Oh yeah, and friend me on Mixx here.
