Shopping for Christmas online requires you to do two things, neither of which I’m any good at: know what you want to buy, and buy it well in advance.
Though I can’t help you with the first part (I’m something of an impulse, last-minute, last thing on the shelf kind of shopper), Dealhack’s got your back on the second part.
Just about every online retailer has a date by which you must order stuff in order for it to arrive before Christmas. Ever ordered something, and had it not come, so you wrap up a picture of it for them? Not quite as awesome.
Using Dealhack’s “2008 Holiday Ordering Deadlines for On-Time Delivery” (clever name, no?), you’re sure to get the gift you want in time. They’ve compiled a giant list of retailers “from Amazon to Zappos” along with the last date you can order something and have it shipped to you by Christmas Eve, sorted by Standard or Expedited Shipping.
Some of the dates are estimates, but Dealhack seems to be pretty right on with their guesses. It also lists exceptions, as well as the last day to buy a gift card and the company’s customer service number. No time like the holidays to harass customer service!
If you’re shopping online this Christmas, do it with Dealhack. The whole site has great stuff for finding deals on the Web, but you can’t be without the Master List. Go fill that tree!
