All I Want for Christmas…Is Toys

So, tomorrow’s Christmas. Shocking, I know.

As we all know, Christmas is the time for hint-dropping about all the really cool things you want. The keys: start in July, be specific, always laugh when you mention it, and don’t forget to throw in something like "I’d be so sad if I didn’t get ___ for Christmas this year." Guilt- works like a charm.

My hints have been dropped, my pouty face practiced, and my guilt trips taken. Here’s what I’m hoping to get for Christmas this year:

Livescribe Pen ($149)

As a student, this is a seriously useful tool. Use the pen to take notes, and the pen also records the goings-on around it (like lectures). The cool part: it syncs the two. When you go back, tap a particular point on your notes, and Livescribe plays back what it recorded at that exact moment. No more wondering "what on earth did I mean by that?", or trying to figure out what I was writing as I fell asleep. For a journalist, student or reporter, this is a game-changer.

Macbook ($1300)

Let’s just be honest: it’s pretty. It’s not terribly expensive, the new touchpad makes navigation and editing better, and there’s nothing bad to be said about it. I’ve been a PC user my whole life, and will never leave Windows completely behind, but Apple has made an entry-price, excellent PC that’s making me drool to become a multi-platform user.

Evernote Premium ($40)

I’ve become addicted to Evernote. It’s where every thought, every reminder, every semi-aware thing that comes into my brain goes straight into Evernote. With the release of their newest feature, I may become a paid user as well. Evernote now has the ability to upload and attach files to a note, which means Evernote could be my backup service as well as my note-taker- not to mention the best way to share files with others. Evernote has become irreplaceable for me, and is also threatening to become one of only a couple I’ve ever paid for.

That’s not too much to ask, right? :)

What do you hope to find under the tree? If you already know, what’d you get?
