I can’t remember where I read this, but I saw the other day that YouTube now gets more searches than Yahoo. That’s pretty rough. But the point is, YouTube is becoming a massive repository, social network, and destination for all things video.
For all the use I get out of YouTube, I’ve just recently discovered my new favorite feature, and one that I can’t believe I didn’t already know about- the Quicklist.
Using a Quicklist, you can save videos to your own personal “On-the-Go” playlist to watch later. It lives in the right sidebar of the YouTube page, and makes for easy bookmarking and watching of all the YouTube videos you want.
When you search for a video or keyword, you’ll see a Plus Sign next to all of the search results. Just click that plus sign, and the video thumbnail will say “Added.”
Add as many videos as you want to your Quicklist (you don’t need to be logged in or signed up to create a Quicklist, but you’ll need an account to save one). Up at the top right of the YouTube page, you’ll see a link to “Quicklist” with the number of videos in the list in parentheses.
You can choose to play a single video in your Quicklist, or play them all in a continuous stream. If you so desire, you can add videos to your saved playlists, or favorite any given video.
If you’re getting overwhelmed but the sheer number of videos you want to watch, throw them all in your Quicklist. Then, whenever you want to, watch your own personal playlist to your heart’s content.
Apparently there’s tons of cool YouTube stuff I might not know about. Help! Share your tip in the comments.
