Every time I stand on the platform of the subway, I find myself wondering how on Earth they get made – no one gets crushed, somehow the ceilings don’t cave. It’s amazing, really, and it’s all this machine. It’s called, unimaginately, the tunnel-boring machine, and Gizmodo’s got some awesome pictures of the thing. It’s huge-mungous, and I want to see it work!
